Try Aweber Autoresponder Service to Boost Your Online Business

Online marketers are using autoresponders and finding they are critical components to running a successful online company. One of the "granddaddies" of these is Aweber. We've used it for years and find mostly positives (a couple points of contention) and submit this review for those trying to make a decision on which service to use.

It's quick to get started. It doesn't cost much per month for such a valuable service. It works pretty seamlessly. Autoresponders, as you likely know, capture information from the visitors who find your site and like what they see enough to sign up for your freebies and ezines. The visitors complete a form or even a survey, and this info they give to you gets forwarded to you while they get to collect on your free offering.

Tip #1: Be sure to have quick and simple forms for your guests to complete. Don't make them fill out their life story. They just won't do it. Keep it simple and inviting. Use a nice graphic and keep your text readable (don't use super huge fonts that scream or so small they can't be read with out squinting-we've seen both).

Second: Have your messages pre-written and scheduled to go out before you ever implement your auto-responder. Your prospects will receive the first one immediately upon confirming their request for it (in their email) and you should have it ready to go. You can write additional messages (this is strongly encouraged) to be sent weekly, monthly or how often you choose.

Third: Don't be pesky! Just because your visitor gave you permission to email them from time to time, don't take advantage of this. We've seen them sent as often as several a day (yikes!) and promptly unsubscribed from receiving any future issues. Be courteous, provide useful content and don't bug your prospects too often. Stay in front of them, but keep it a maximum twice a week. People just don't have time to read more.

We generally like Aweber. It has worked well for us in particular. There are other services out there (and some that offer some pretty cool little forms like stickey notes, etc. that we haven't seen yet with Aweber). Our main complaint is that it takes forever to load new messages, even on our high speed computer. It's something that is a turn-off, but we don't do it that often so it's easy to overlook. We'd really like to see this issue addressed as well as some new interesting form choices.

Generally, it's a good choice. This service has been around awhile and they perform as promised, so we don't really have much to complain about. If they work on those slow load times, we might be just a little more enthusiastic, but we feel you cannot go wrong by using this service.
