Most people will agree that Affiliate Marketing is one of the fastest and easiest ways to create an income from your home based business.
As an Affiliate Marketer, you are working with a product that has already been created. Therefore, you will not need to spend time and money on R&D. Many programs will also provide some nice sales materials for your use.
This works really well for quick profits, but what about long term, residual income?
Lets look at the process a little more closely. As the Affiliate, you will do all the work of getting prospects to the product sales page through your affiliate link. The goal is to have the prospect buy the product and then as the Affiliate, you will earn a commission.
While this is a good process, it must be repeated over and over again. Always you are searching for prospects who become buyers. Sometimes the commission is pretty small for all of this work. And at some point, you will find the product not selling very well. Then, you'll have to pick a new product and start the process once more.
If you are using pay per click or any other paid advertising to bring in leads, this can become expensive. Also to be considered is the conversion ratio. In other words, when 100 prospects land on the sales page, how many actually make a purchase?
So what can you, as an Affiliate Marketer, do to increase the return on your leads and qualified prospects?
Setting up your own lead capture page is the first that should be done. Be sure to include an opt-in box so that you will begin creating your own list of prospects. An auto-responder will capture each name and e-mail address and then send out information as often as you like. You can fill the auto-responder with several messages which talk about the product's benefits and then schedule the delivery of these e-mails.
If you give a free product to your prospects, you immediately begin to build a relationship with them. This can be a product review or report. They will more likely fill in the opt-in box if they are receiving something free.
With their name and e-mail information, you can send information about other related products. If they weren't interested in your first product, but are interested in your niche, they may buy the second or third or fourth product offered.
The other thing you will need to do is promote your niche. You can do this on other service and membership sites. This will give you the beginning of a recurring income instead of just getting the one time sale. In fact, why don't you start your own membership site?
A great example of the use of a membership is the cell phone companies. How many times have you been offered a free phone, an upgrade, or even a buy one get one free deal? The catch? A two year service contract!
The phone company has created a recurring income for a full two years. You can do this, too.
First is to find the product, create your sales page and give it lots of content (Google likes that), get your leads captured with your opt-in box and begin to build a relationship with them by periodically sending them quality information and product reviews. Once they know and trust you, they will gladly sign up for that monthly membership.
There you have it. Affiliate Marketing programs are a great method of generating a recurring income.
